Queer* Prom 2019

Algoma University Student Union in collaboration with The PRIDE Project is excited to announce the first Queer Prom for Sault Ste. Marie high school students. Queer* Students in grade 9-12 are invited to click below to save your spot at this exciting event!

The event will take place in the Speakeasy at Algoma University, see map for directions.
7:00pm-11pm June 15th, 2019.

Naloxone Training

With our community in the midst of an opioid crisis, The PRIDE Project would like to help folks get the training and information they need to save lives. On April 13th, we will host a Naloxone training event led by Desiree Beck. Our friends at Loplops have graciously offered the use of their Queen Street space. As always, this event is free and open to Queer*, Trans* and allied folks. You asked for it so here you go! On Saturday, February 10th, 2018, The PRIDE Project will host a youth dance in the Speak Easy Pub at Algoma University from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. This dance is open to Queer*, Trans* and Allies* youth. Feel free to come alone or bring friends. As always, this event is free to attend, music will be from a playlist that you create and snacks and drinks will be provided. This event is alcohol-free. There is a bus stop right outside the door. If you need accommodations to participate fully in this event, please let us know. We will do our best to help. See you there!

Sex Ed and Harm Reduction for Queer*, Trans* and Allied Youth (age 13-20 years)

The PRIDE project is trilled to host our fabulous friend Jenny Jolie of HARP, for an evening of learning and fun as we talk about Sex Ed and Harm Reduction for Queer*, Trans* and Allied Youth at the Gore Street Cafe.  With Jenny as our guide, we will discuss some of the issues facing Queer* and Trans* and explore options that can help that can help you stay healthier and safer.  This is a free event open to youth ages 13 to 20 years. Snacks and drinks will be provided. If you would like to join us and need accommodation to ensure that you can participate fully in this event, please reach out ahead of time. We will do our best to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included.

The PRIDE Project invites Queer*, Trans* and allied youth ages 10 to 19 to join us for 3 hours of food, fun and art. We will be gathering at The Gore Street Cafe on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM to cook a meal and create some art together. As always, this event is free to attend. We will provide food, drinks and art supplies. Bring your creativity and your beautiful self! Please feel free to share and spread the word. If you have dietary restrictions that we need to know about, please let us know. Everyone who is looking for a safer space to be for a few hours is welcome.
